Sarah has a passion for teaching
others what she has learned in her own artistic journey. Store
owners, manufacturers and event planners enjoy working with Sarah
and having her teach and demonstrate at their event and in their
stores. Students enjoy her engaging teaching style and wide range of
product knowledge and unique projects. Sarah would be happy to teach
or demonstrate at your event or store provided the following
criteria are met:
The store owner or event
coordinator understands that each class is designed specifically for
them. Materials and products used in class must be in adequate
supply and available for the students to purchase after class. Once
a sample has been made and is displayed in the store, Sarah expects
that the same materials be on hand to use for class.
You will need to
contact Sarah regarding the
costs. In general, traveling (.44 cents a mile plus fuel) and hotel
expenses will need to be covered in addition to compensation for the
demonstration and sample preparation. If at all possible, she
prefers to drive but understands that in the real world, flight is
necessary. Should the event be more than 4-5 hours by car from her
location in Michigan, plane travel will be necessary.
Class costs will vary and depend on the
amount of preparation needed to create the sample and whether or not
Sarah is to bring the supplies to class; these costs will be agreed
to BEFORE any printed material or announcements are made
concerning her appearance. Sarah generally charges $35-$65 per
student for classes (to which the store owner may add a
nominal fee to cover incidentals and
advertising). These fees reflect a kitted class (all materials
included). In store classes have to have a minimum of 12
students. In the event that the 12 students are not at class,
the store is responsible for paying Sarah for those empty seats; in
return they will get the unused class kits.
Sarah earns a living creating fresh and
innovative projects. She teaches with the expectation that her
classes will not be pirated or taught elsewhere by someone other
than herself. Sarah wants her students to be equipped with unique
techniques that can be applied to their own work and
artistic journey. Please be aware that students and/or storeowners
that choose to use Sarah's class materials and/or samples to teach
her classes without her written permission or in contract
form, will be agreeing to pay her royalties and class fees for
each student attending as if she were there.
Demonstrations, conventions, retreats
and private engagements have different fee schedules and hourly
rates. Please contact Sarah directly
regarding your event.
Although
Sarah understands many languages and has traveled extensively
throughout the world, for travel abroad, she requires a translator
during her demonstrations (only if English is not the primary
language spoken) and would
need 16 weeks advance notice.
